         kill for her.  die for her.  REGARDLESS  –  WHAT BLISS!  what feeble words, truly. can their actions not demonstrate the seriousness of these forsaken vows? amidst bitterness and childish resentment towards one another  ( in these badlands; in the lion’s den  –  where only POWER and CONTROL reign in an ongoing power )  there’s affection, an addiction.  an unspoken fear that trembles within, this idea of permanent separation.  to be without her warmth if only for a day,  to have their bodies separated from this embrace and their secretly shared cell hollow save for a lingering physical being —-  HOLLOW. half dead without the other —-  or to envision themselves carrying forward for a single day after such loss … no. he’ll drive his sword into himself before parting from her.

     but to hear these vows, this promise reciprocated leaves him STUNNED.  i love you.  all at once he is mute and perhaps for good reason. i love you. (i love you) i love you. words like those are dangerous.  words like those do not tread lightly upon black ice and rarely do they ever fare well. they bode a toxic euphoria of empty promises about permanence and a sense of belonging.  BUT THEIR LIVES ARE ENTWINED BY VIOLENCE.  death lingers and it waits with exuberant patience for the inevitable.

             ❛  then LIVE.  ❜  he demands of her, compromised by a shaking jaw and astonishment threatening to overwhelm his stoic expression. he knows she is only repulsed by the sight of adoration, it is a sign of weakness.  it is a reminder of her own.  it does not change the severity of his words, because when he looks upon her  ( his sight only a VOID; dark, diminished. nothingness – but he tries to envision something )  he sees only stubbornness and arrogance, an assurance she will follow through these words.   oh my sweet, my sweet darling fool.   ❛  live for me,  as i do for you.  ❜
